Each year, Harmon Electric Association, Inc. chooses two high school students to send to the Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit in the month of January.   These students are given the opportunity to broaden their leadership skills and to interact with like-minded peers from across the state.  Each teen who attends the Saturday morning, Touchstone Energy-sponsored leadership program also takes home a $250 college scholarship and has an opportunity to win an additional $1,000 scholarship.

Oklahoma's rural electric cooperatives first launched the Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit in 2000 to help prepare students to become effective leaders and challenge them to take on important roles in their communities.  Each participating co-op sponsors two high school seniors to attend the annual training.

M'Kyla Crabb and Freddie Puentes, both of Hollis, were chosen to represent Harmon Electric Association, Inc. at the 2016 Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit.

Crabb is the daughter of Larry & Donna Crabb.  She is a senior at Hollis High School, FFA Reporter, high school cheerleader, and on the yearbook staff.  M’Kyla is also in the National Honor Society, was a 2015 Girls State delegate and chosen as a Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Delegate.  After graduation she plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University and major in Elementary Education.

A senior at Hollis High School, Puentes is the son of Fredrico & Barbara Puentes.  He is a senior percussionist with the Tiger Band and also a member of the First Baptist Church youth group.  Freddie is in the National Honor Society and also on the high school academic team.  After graduation he plans to attend college and obtain a degree in journalism.
